World Record Attempt - Fastest Marathon Dressed as a TREE for Earth Day 2024
Brand Partnerships / Sponsors
Isaac is teaming up with eco-friendly brands, from recyclable trainers to sustainable energy gels. These partnerships embody our commitment to a sustainable future.
For this TCS London Marathon in 2024, Isaac took a different approach and educated others about saving the planet and trees during his run.
Isaac's visual impact, running whilst dressed as a tree, turns heads and captures hearts. Isaac was also distributing wildflower seeds to fellow runners and organisers of the London Marathon, symbolising his dedication to environmental stewardship. It's a reminder that every action, no matter how small, contributes to a cleaner, greener world.
Isaac's run isn't a solo endeavour; it's a call to action. Fellow runners, spectators, and communities are inspired to join in, building unity and collective effort towards a sustainable future. This record-breaking tree marathon wasn’t just about setting records. It's about making a difference. Isaac was running to raise awareness and funds for eco-adventures for underprivileged individuals, partnering with Climate Explorers CIC 's dedicated fund for environmental education.
Isaac carbon offset using “Climate Games ” verified tree carbon offsets during the marathon and for his travel to and from the marathon. This has a connection to carbon dioxide levels and how his tree costume serves as a visual representation of a carbon sink or a way to reduce these CO2 levels for a sustainable planet.
Supporters can place donation bets on how much offset will be collected at the end of the run-through Climate Games.

Environmental Considerations:
Fully Upcycled Tree Costume – Zero New Materials: Costume made from upcycled materials rather than purchased items. Costume construction relied on existing resources, reducing the carbon associated with manufacturing new costumes.
Local oak branches collected from naturally fallen limbs (no cutting, no disturbance to living trees).
Reused cardboard sourced from waste streams—diverted materials from landfill.
Sustainable Running Kit: Every item of clothing was chosen with environmental footprint in mind. This avoided fast-fashion, synthetic virgin fibres, and single-use costume purchases.
Hylo Athletics eco-friendly running shoes (bio-based materials, recyclable, low-carbon design).
Hylo recycled shorts and shirt, made from waste or sustainable fibres.
Teko eco-performance socks, made from recycled or renewable materials.
Recycled ocean plastic running watch, preventing waste from entering oceans.
Refillable Hydration – Zero Plastic Waste: Used a bladder water pack for continuous refilling, eliminating the need for single-use plastic bottles. Avoided disposable gels by carrying nutrition in reusable containers. Encouraged sustainable race-day hydration at public refill points.
Local & Low-Carbon Logistics: Travel to the marathon by public transport (tube).
Natural Messaging Amplifying Sustainability: Running as a tree draws attention to deforestation, nature protection, and climate issues. The whole challenge becomes a platform for environmental education.
Responsible Disposal of Materials After the Event: All components of the costume after a talk I did were recycled, composted, or repurposed. Oak branches can decompose naturally. Avoided the typical fate of novelty marathon costumes (landfill).
